Las Vegas' Future Mega Structures Now Revealed!

A MESSAGE TO OUR MUCH APPRECIATED TOURIST

HOOVER DAM BYPASS

The Nevada Department of Transportation has been working on the nearly 2,000 foot long Colorado River Bridge (about 1,600 feet south of the Hoover Dam) since late January 2005. The completion of the entire Hoover Dam Bypass Project is expected in June 2008. The bridge will span the Black Canyon nearly 900-feet above the Colorado River, connecting the Arizona and Nevada Approach highways. The increasing congestion caused by the restrictions at the dam crossing has led to the development of the Hoover Bypass Project. Pictures......

THE LAS VEGAS STRIP AND DOWNTOWN

Las Vegas is a city with billions of lights. Downtown Las Vegas is truly our Mayor's passion! Mayor Oscar Goodman is absolutely determined, that downtown receives one 'facelift' after another with improvements galore!

Driving on the Las Vegas Strip feels as if you are in a foreign country. Casino designs offer the beautiful illusion of being in Europe. We have hotels with awesome water features and architecture representing Italy, France, Germany, Egypt, Greece, the Orient, and the list goes on and on.

'SIN CITY' LAS VEGAS FOR CHILDREN?

"Breaking News!" The Las Vegas city government provided the land: A Las Vegas 501c3 non-profit group is just about to place Las Vegas on the map as the ultimate children-oriented town! Las Vegas will soon have a year-round active 200 acre 1/3rd scale live-steam miniature railroad park for children.

The Las Vegas Railroad Society is working diligently on creating Las Vegas' first official 30,000sft. railroad museum, railroad bridges, railroad trestles, railroad tunnels, a nostalgic Merry-Go-Round, in and outdoor theaters, magic performance for the children, over-all - 70+ different event and educational program activities for families and their children, plus a beautiful 23 acre botanical garden, as also a 30,000sft mining museum and underground mining ride with educational mining exhibits.

This unique facility is Las Vegas' ultimate destination point for 350,000 students from our local schools for year-round active educational field trips and live-steam powered train rides and uncountable educational hands-on program activities for all children. This is also a

CASINO EMPLOYEES

Our local hotel and casino employees are hard working folks, who are making an honest living while catering to thousands of guests and tourists in this exciting 24 hour town, working day shifts, night shifts, taking their part to keep hotels running smoothly and around the clock. Speaking of clocks, you just won't find any here in our local casinos. But, who cares? You live by the clock all year; this is vacation time, welcome to the no-stress-zone....

THE LAS VEGAS COMMUNITY

Las Vegas is a happy town, to say the least, made up of a wonderful community who is busy with charity functions, shopping, church, sports, hobbies and backyard barbeques. Las Vegas is also made up of a strong and business community and many happy retirees.

LAS VEGAS' ECONOMY

Nevada has no state income tax, and new businesses are opening in Las Vegas every day. When the economy was shaky over the years throughout the whole United States, for one reason or another, Las Vegas always bounced back pretty well in the shortest time, and will no doubt continue to do so. Las Vegas is an awesome city, filled with creativity, limitless fantasy, and many talented and interesting people.

LAS VEGAS, THE ULTIMATE ESCAPE

Las Vegas' glitz and glamour can be quite overwhelming at times for some visitors. When you visit our town and you go to the Las Vegas strip, you may have the feeling like you are visiting Italy, Egypt, Greece, and the Orient. Las Vegas sells illusion, but.... what's wrong with that? Visiting Las Vegas provides an emotional re-charge, influencing people to forget their hectic or humdrum daily lives. They leave behind their job responsibilities, or business stress which they had to endure throughout the year.

LAS VEGAS, THE 'BOOMERANG' TOWN

Las Vegas has a strange reputation: There are always people who have lived in Las Vegas for many years, and they decide to move on to another town for one reason or another, only to return one day again, enjoying once more everything that Las Vegas has to offer, ever so glad to be back.

LAS VEGAS, A SAFE HAVEN

We are deeply touched to hear on the news:

  • When hurricanes roar in the south and in the east
  • When tornados swirl at numerous locations throughout our nation
  • When earthquakes rumble the west
  • When snow weakens the heaviest semi trucks in some states
  • When floods or mud slides rip the earth apart and along its very path.

At moments like these, we feel indeed lucky to be out of harm's way. Living in Southern Nevada's 100 year old gambling town and 'safe haven' called Las Vegas, is truly a privilege for many of us. Many Americans love to visit Las Vegas, leaving behind their snow covered cities during winter months, or even the never-ending rain and thunderstorms during summer months, to be able to enjoy Las Vegas' steady sunshine, which no doubt is the ultimate mood-elevator for the human soul. We love our tourists!

THE LAS VEGAS OUTSKIRTS

Driving to the outskirts of our town, and looking at the Las Vegas valley from the elevated distance of surrounding mountains after sundown at almost any night of the year, Las Vegas offers the ultimate show, free of charge. Our city continuously glistens peacefully with all its colorful lights and man-made artificial beauty all throughout the 4 seasons of the year. It is a indeed a magical town....

Housing developments are growing like 'wildflowers in the fields' where huge and modern shopping centers pop up everywhere in-between. All the newly developed areas are divided with a huge variety of beautiful trees, burgundy in color, various shades of green as also blooming trees during spring time where ever you look in our valley.

Natural stage settings like these may be a common environment where you come from, but, believe it or not, it really is a big deal to us here in the desert. There was a time where we had none of that, just sage brush, sand and rocks, some desert wild flowers and blooming cactuses along the way. But now, with the helping hand of mankind, spring time always presents us with the annual gift of a blooming and colorful season, and we surely don't take that for granted at all.

LAS VEGAS, VACATION SPOT OR FINAL DESTINATION?

Some folks come to Vegas as visitors and decide to stay forever, moving their entire household, the dog, the cat and the kids. Can you blame them? It is truly the land of opportunity, as long as you are willing to endure our dry desert summer heat for about 4 months out of the year. During extreme hot summer months we focus more on indoor activities, catching up with things which we have neglected during the rest of the year. Just like back east, when the opposite takes place, where winter forces many people to stay inside their homes....

Nothing really compares to our town. Come on and check us out! You may decide, you never want to leave again, because, that's exactly what the rest of us said, who are living here right now.
